1. Introduction

Welcome to the Wanasa app ("the App", "we", or "us"). We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the regulations in force in the Arab Gulf countries.

Wanasa is an anonymous chat app designed for users aged 18 and older. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

2. Data We Collect

Data we collect directly from you:

Nickname (we do not request real name)
Age (to verify 18+ eligibility)
Gender (locked after initial registration)
Country (auto-detected from device settings with option to change)
Selected interests (1 to 5 interests from 12 categories)
Profile picture (fully optional)

Data generated during use:

Text messages and images sent in chats
Recorded voice messages
Karma rating (0 to 100)
Coins balance and purchase history
Online status (online / last seen)
Friendship and block relationships
Reports submitted or received

Technical data:

Unique anonymous identifier (Firebase Anonymous Auth UID)
Device identifier (to link coins and prevent ban evasion)

What we do NOT collect: We do not collect phone number, email, real name, precise geographic location (GPS), contacts, or any personally identifiable information.

3. How We Use Your Data

Running the smart matching system (interests + age + country + karma)
Managing chats and delivering messages and voice calls
Managing friends and block systems
Calculating and updating karma rating
Processing reports and applying automatic bans
Managing the coins system and purchases
Preventing misuse and protecting the community

4. Data Storage & Protection

We use Firebase Realtime Database from Google with servers in the Western Europe region (europe-west1). All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest. Voice calls occur directly between users (peer-to-peer) via WebRTC and do not pass through our servers.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We only share data in the following cases:

With Firebase/Google to operate the app's infrastructure
With RevenueCat to process in-app purchases
With competent authorities when there is a legal obligation or to protect user safety
With NCMEC/concerned parties upon discovery of child exploitation content

6. Your Rights

According to the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), you have the following rights:

Right to Access: View your stored data
Right to Rectification: Modify your data (name, interests, country)
Right to Erasure: Permanently delete your account and all data from Settings
Right to Object: Contact us to object to processing of your data

When you delete your account: All data, chats, and friendships are wiped from both sides immediately. Coins linked to the device remain preserved.

7. Cookies

The app does not use cookies. We use AsyncStorage locally on your device only to save your preferences.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes via an in-app notification. Your continued use of the app after the update means your acceptance of the updated policy.
